Essence of Aikido
HOW CAN YOU AVOID SETBACKS ALONG YOUR PATH TO HEALTH AND AIKI SKILLS
Like the rest of us, I bet you have experienced a variety of problems in your life. It just doesn't go exactly how you want it to... does it?
Stress, anxiety, worry, pain, anger, sadness, etc. are all common. But so are relaxation, vitality, happiness, health, well-being, success. etc.
When you weigh it all up, it tends to balance itself out... doesn't it? This is the law of cause and effect, also known as karma... what you sow you shall reap, yin/yang, the balance of opposites.
Most of us have heard these terms before from a variety of sources around the world. These days many people call it the law of attraction, which states... 'what you think about you become'. You may have seen the movie 'The Secret' that goes into some detail about this.
The point is that you have, do, and will continue to experience the highs and lows as you journey through life. In fact, these setbacks, blocks, and problems are the life lessons that you must find a way to overcome.
What you focus on you will attract towards you. So by concentrating on negative thoughts
and emotions you may be drawing more of those experiences your way.
But, remember that the opposite is also true. So by avoiding the negative and focusing more on the positive you can begin to change your mindset or perspective. If you change how you see life, then your life experience Will Change!

DEAL WITH OR SIDE-STEP ANY BLOCKAGES THAT ARE IN THE WAY OF YOUR SUCCESS
How can you overcome your problems?
Well, its no good ignoring them and pretending that they don't exist. Examine them, and see if there is a simple way to reduce their power to control you.
Often problems, blocks, setbacks are blown out of all proportion and seem a lot bigger than they actually are. You may find after looking at them in a realistic way, that they just aren't that important anymore.
So you can just let them go!
Others may need a little more effort. In Aikido, we never meet force with force. There is always a way to blend with the energy and redirect it elsewhere.
Can you move around, over, or under it. Upon examination, the problem may be weaker than you first thought. Which gives you the opportunity to move right through it. (aikido irimi)
How?
Well, if its a boring task that you keep putting off. Just add a massive amount of energy and see how fast it gets done. In fact, you may surprise yourself how easily you can work through a list of difficult tasks... If You Really Try!
You must agree that you simply cannot avoid negative experiences in life? But, it is possible to reduce these down to a minimum!
What can you do right now? Focus more on positive energy! How?
1 - Stop watching the news on television. (negative stories)
2 - Stop buying and reading newspapers. (negative stories)
3 - Stop thinking about what you want but don't have.
4 - Start thinking about what you already have and be grateful.
5 - Start thinking about good feelings you have already experienced.
6 - Watch inspiring tv, dvds, films, etc.
7 - Listen to inspiring audio music, etc.
8 - Read positive books, magazines, etc.
I'm sure by now you get the idea. Fill yourself with positive thoughts, feelings and actions. And remember...
