The Aiki Peace Week 2014 photo's and video were taken on 18th September at the Arun Aikido Club in Bognor Regis, West Sussex UK.
These unique classes are offered to the community every year as part of the United Nations international day of peace celebrations.
Sensei Tony J. Wilden 5th Dan who founded the Arun Aikido Club in 1992, hosted the special Aiki Peace classes for the 4th year running.
Sensei Piers Cooke 7th Dan and two of his students joined us again. They are from Coldharbour Aikido Club, who are based in Surrey, UK.
Sensei Tony took the junior class, and the warm-up exercises for the adult class. This included a series of aiki exercises, breath control, tibetan yoga, and partner exercises all designed to...
balance the energy centres (chakras).
Sensei Piers showed us some excellent stretching exercises. Plus techniques that involved flowing movement, including kote gaeshi, ikkyo, and iriminage. His technique is relaxed and very powerful.
Sensei Piers also told us about a unique new book edited by his brother Sensei Quentin Cooke 7th Dan titled...
Sensei Tony had donated a copy to be given to one lucky student whose name was drawn randomly by Sensei Piers. Kevin Attrill was very pleased to receive it, and we look forward to his feedback on it.
All income from the book goes to the excellent work of Aiki Extensions
Apart from the benefits to the students, we raised some donations for the important work that Aiki Extensions are doing all over the world.
